About Christian Medical College

Founded in 1900 by Dr. Ida S. Scudder, Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore has grown from a one-bed clinic to one of Asia's largest and most respected medical institutions. Our mission is to provide compassionate, innovative, and accessible healthcare to all, especially the marginalized, while advancing medical education and research.

With campuses in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry, CMC serves as a referral center for complex cases across South Asia. We are an autonomous institution affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).
